Darden Foundation Grants Application
Since 1995, the Darden Foundation has awarded more than $75 million in grants to organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) and the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF).
Darden Foundation supports the NRAEF and its objective to improve the restaurant industry’s service to the public through education, community engagement, and promotion of career prospects.
Darden Foundation Contribution
Darden Foundation helps support ProStart, a national high school program that introduces students to career possibilities in the restaurant industry and provides them with an industry-driven program on topics ranging from culinary methods to management skills.
Darden also vendors NRAEF Summer Institutes, which are a series of intensive workshops that provide ProStart educators with a forum to learn cutting-edge skills to take back to the classroom, as well as educator and student scholarships.
Aiding the Fight Against Hunger
Darden Foundation has it mission to provide Hunger Aid. Since the Darden Foundation program’s beginning, more than 91 million pounds of food – totaling more than 75 million meals – has been contributed through Darden Harvest, such as eight million pounds of food in 2015.
Darden Restaurants Grants and Scholarships Application
Darden is the big name in the field of Hotels and Restaurants. Darden Restaurants, Inc. is the world largest restaurant company which is running with more than 2,000 restaurants, corporate office in Orlando which gave employment to 185,000 people yet. It has own foundation and charitable department which used to give scholarships and grants to low-income students, it has given $60 million grants yet with $7.8 million given in fiscal year 2012.
Scholarships for Hispanic college students
The Darden Foundation has tied up with Hispanic Scholarship Fund(HSF) which is the leader of the grants for Hispanic students provider in the colleges. The foundation has revealed a new program under grant and scholarships to provide Hispanic grants to low-income students for their academic support.
They have selected 40 students to give college scholarships worth $150,000 grant from Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles etc. This is the first partnership of Darden Foundation and HSF. Under this program, over fourty students will be awarded with $2,500 scholarship each. Student with low income could not afford their college education, who will be able to complete their education from this scholarships.
